I’ve gotten my power situation back on track and have resumed streaming with the team! It’s definitely good to be back!

I figure I might as well make this official with a news post, now that I have a better handle on the situation. I’m going to be on an official hiatus from streaming—not by choice, mind you. The outside master breaker box arced and cooked itself, leaving me without power.
The cost of repairs is more than the landlord is interested in paying right now, so I’m in the process of preparing to move. This likely won’t be happening in the duration of this year, though, with the costs of moving.
I’m still online through the usage of a netbook and LCD monitor being powered through a 12-volt inverter. As you might imagine, this is quite insufficient for streaming purposes. Thus, I will be focusing on administrative duties until I can get myself resituated.
Updates will be posted as they’re known.
It is somewhat difficult to find words for situations like this. We asked for help in order to assist kids with pediatric cancer, and you’ve come through with flying colors! As I write this, we are 68 hours into the marathon. While the Extra Life team asked us to do 24 hours, we decided that if we’d met our goals, we’d go on as long as possible– you raised over $800, well past our wildest dreams for this year’s effort!
Thank you– we could not have done any of this without your support.
All of us here of the Sanctuary Crew are sincerely thankful for what you’ve done. Your donations will help kids get that chance at life that they might not have had. Those kids will not know our names, but they will know your achievement here and I believe they will thank you even more than we ever could.
This fight isn’t over, though– there are always more kids to save. We’ll be back next year to continue this fight, and we sincerely hope you’ll be there to help us– and even more importantly, help those kids.
Sincerely,
Firehawke, Floofy, Sniff, No, Tristan, RetroNutcase, CK, and Seolla
P.S.
Our streams will continue as usual at http://www.sanctuarycrew.com so feel free to drop in!
P.P.S
The marathon has ended at 74 hours! Hope everyone enjoyed the run!
Here’s what I believe to be a final list of everything played. I might need to edit the list if I discover anything I’d missed, but I BELIEVE this is everything. Some games were played multiple times but will have only one entry on the list. For instance, I know Metroid was played through at least twice, Castlevania was played at least twice, and Castlevania 3 got played three times.
This will probably be the only post in awhile that I make with my phone.
I’m out in downtown Dallas, currently taking a break with a slice of NY style pizza at the awesome place by St Paul Station (frequent visitors to the downtown area should know what I’m talking about! It’s awesome!)… But I’ve only been here for about 30 minutes and I’m already a quarter of the way through with my flyers.
People out here have both been great and receptive to us fighting pediatric cancer. They’ve been wanting to know more, wishing us luck, and very open to the idea. It’s stuff like this that reminds me how great my city really is.
Children’s Medical Center is a bit of pride for our city; it has won so many awards and helped so many children in our community. I, too, was saved by this hospital when I was seven years old. I’m very proud to make this pledge to help give a little back to this great facility.
Once done with my dinner, I will be going back out to the crowds. I’m usually afraid of rush hour, but today, it can’t last long enough. I need to get the word out to as many people as I possibly can! I can’t believe that I’ve got just over 36 hours left until we begin.
Thank you all for your support. Together, we’re all doing a great thing.
Going to make this short and sweet:
Those that get banned a second time for sufficiently bad behavior will be added to a list of people we won’t be removing from the ban list when we do future cleaning sessions.
If you behave yourself, don’t pick fights, show some respect for your streamers and fellow watchers, and BEHAVE yourselves, there’s nothing to be even remotely concerned about; you’re all guests in our home, and all we ask is that you behave like one.
Now let me read your mind… No, perhaps I should say, your past.
Perhaps you’re one of those people who bought Ys 7 recently? Or maybe you’ve been a long-term fan, but have recently been more interested in Falcom as a result of the Ys or Sora no Kiseki games?
Still don’t believe me? Let me read more deeply into your soul.
You like Falcom, don’t you? (Yes, I just read your memory stick.)
Try the Endless History news site. They have information you simply cannot find at IGN, Gamespot, or any of those other sites. Endless History is the site that broke the news on the UStreaming of the recent JDK Band concert. Endless History has useful translated information, brought fresh from the Japanese side of the world, material that IGN would consider too in-depth to even touch.
If you like Ys, if you like Sora no Kiseki, if you like ANYTHING Falcom has done, this is the site you need to be going to see. That much I can promise you.
As you have guessed, a bunch of us were active during the live stream on USTREAM of the JDK Band concert from 8/21/2010. For a short period of time, the archive .flv was active, and I managed to grab it before it was removed.
Anyway, we’ve been talking about having a video archive on our site, along with other ideas of late. So for now, we’ve posted the concert video on the website.
You can find it here.
This video is also posted on Nico Nico Douga, segmented into individual songs.
It was a great concert, and you guys don’t want to miss out on it.
Because if you’re going to play stealth, you play stealth in STYLE.
I make this look good. Also, goddamnit Fallout 3, why are you so addictive? Especially with the mod package I put in? D:
We’ve added a second channel to our lineup so that certain streamhogs like me won’t be taking over entirely. We’ll definitely be needing it in the near future. We’re almost prepped for the big Extra Life blitz, as well.
The video streaming world is pretty fast-paced. Things change in the blink of an eye– features are removed and added faster than one can really keep up with. That said, we’re undergoing some slight site maintenance to work on a few issues that have recently cropped up. There’s nothing here that should seriously affect you, but we would like you to know that we continue to work on improving things here.
We’re in the planning phase for reworking some of our Video on Demand clips. Justin.TV’s reworking of that system recently wreaked havoc on our end.
Lastly, Extra Life 2010 is coming. Expect big things in the near future.
